Bachelor of Arts in Communications

The Communications major requires 36 common credits: Communications 120, 125, 135, 210, 211, 220, 230, 248, and 485, and 20 additional credits in a concentration. The concentration must be declared prior to registration for the junior year. Although not required, a minor course of study is recommended by the Department of Communications. 

The Corporate Communications concentration requires Communications 333, 351, 358 or 412, plus either two additional communications electives or one communications elective and one business elective from the following set of
courses: Communications 251, 252, 301, 304, 314, 316, 348, 408, Business Administration 215, 265, 311, 312, 319.

The Mass Communications concentration requires Communications 316, 336, 348, and two approved electives from the following set of courses: Communi-cations 304, 310, 314, 315, 333, 422, 424 and 426.

The New Media Communications concentration requires Communications 310, 315, 426, and two approved electives from the following set of courses:  Communications 316, 333, 336, 348, 358, 408, and 422.
