Engineering and Physics Projects

Elizabethtown Engineering and Physics students are involved in numerous projects in and around campus.

Facilities, Labs and Equipment

The Department of Engineering and Physics, located in the Masters Center for Science, Mathematics & Engineering, encompasses a collection of state-of-the-art laboratories and research spaces as well as areas for students to gather and study.

Programs

 

BS in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical, or Sustainable Design

This program is accredited by the Engineering Commission of ABET, 111 Market Pl., Suite 1050 Baltimore, MD 21202 (410) 347-7700), and emphasizes hands-on projects every year. Broad curricular and project background allows students to excel in the current multidisciplinary nature of many engineering careers. This is our fastest growing major and accounts for two-thirds of our 150 Engineering and Physics students.Our BS Engineering degree is accredited for concentrations in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering; the new Sustainable Design concentration will be included in the ABET re-accreditation review of the BS Engineering program in 2014. BS in Computer Engineering

This program is accredited by the Engineering Commission of ABET, 111 Market Pl., Suite 1050 Baltimore, MD 21202 (410) 347-7700), and includes mastering both computer hardware and software design. Upper-level courses and research projects often have emphasis on robotics, machine intelligence, or green technologies. This is our oldest engineering program with close to 100 graduates to-date. BS in Industrial Engineering Management

Combines engineering and business administration, two of the top professional programs at Elizabethtown College.  See Catalog Details.

BS in Physics

Preparation either for graduate school or for the technical job market. Excellent choice for self-motivated students with broad interests since the lower credit requirements allow for ample electives and possible double majors. See Catalog Details.

BS in Physics Secondary Education

Offered in conjunction with the education department, leads to Pennsylvania teacher certification at the secondary level. See Catalog Details.

Minor in Technical Design

This program will be launched in Fall 2013 and will emphasize multidisciplinary team projects
