Theta Grimaud, OTD, BS, OTR/L, CEAS
Theta Grimaud, OTD, BS, OTR/L, CEAS has been an Occupational Therapist for 23 years. Prior to becoming an OT, she was a police officer for the City of York, PA. In 1992, Theta earned her BS in OT from Towson State University and made the career change to OT. In 2012, Theta earned her OTD from Boston University, with her project focused on SPHM for therapists. Theta has worked in Mental Health, Acute Care, Outpatient, Assisted Living and Long Term Care. Safety of clients and staff has always been paramount to Theta. Through Continuing Education opportunities, Theta developed her skills in ergonomics, including SPHM. She was instrumental in initiating the concept of SPHM, the use of a slider sheet device and improved safety/training and use of patient lift equipment at Wellspan /York Hospital. She trained staff in the use of the lifts and slider sheet. Theta is also a guest instructor for York County School of Technology's Practical Nursing class, where she teaches students manual patient movement techniques that are designed to reduce the injury risk to patients and staff.
