Testing Accommodations
Students who qualify for testing accommodations should make an appointment with each of their professors to discuss testing arrangements. You and your professors can decided on a mutually acceptable method of meeting the accommodation: with your professor in the classroom, with your professor or another staff member in an office, or in one of the testing rooms in Disability Services. Students who use assistive technology such as a screen reader will need to take tests in sites where this is available. Should you both decide the best location is in our office, it is your responsibility to schedule the exam with Tammie Longsderff longsdtl@etown.edu, Assistant Director of Disability Services, at least 48 business hours prior to the exam date. Please follow the procedures below for all tests taken in Disability Services.
- Exams should be taken at the same time/day as when the class is taking the exam, however you may need to start earlier or stay later than the class to have the full allotted time. Should you need to take the exam at a different time due to a conflict with another scheduled class, you must speak with your professor prior to scheduling the exam with our office. We are generally able to proctor exams between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, contingent on staff availability.
- Students requesting testing accommodations must submit a completed Extended Time Test Taking Form to Tammie Longsderff, longsdtl@etown.edu, Assistant Director of Disability Services, at least 48 business hours prior to the exam date. You complete Section 1 and your professor should complete Section 2. Please be sure your professor indicated how to reach him or her during the exam in the event you have a question.
- Students who arrive more than 15 minutes after the arranged time will not be permitted to take the exam without permission, either by phone or in writing (email) of their professor.
- A student proctor, or the Director or Assistant Director of Disability Services proctors tests.
- Academic integrity issues will be immediately reported to faculty.
