Step into Spring Break Challenge

Step your way into Spring Break! Join RecWell's step challenge and log your daily steps from Monday, February 2 - Friday, February 27.  The person with the most steps will win a walking pad! Register by emailing recwell@etown.edu.

 

Shake the Winter Blues Week

Does the cold air and short days have you down?  Warm up with RecWell’s Shake the Winter Blues Week! From Monday, February 2 – Saturday, February 7, participate in multiple events to help you take care of your mental health during the winter months. 

  • Monday, February 2 - Tabling: Visit the SWAGs from 11am-1pm in the BSC Concourse and again from 3-5pm in the Bowers Center Lower Lounge to learn about Seasonal Affective Disorder and all of the events that RecWell has going on this week to combat those symptoms!
  • Tuesday, February 3 - K-Pets: Snuggle up to your favorite furry friends from K-Pets to help boost your mood from 4-6pm in the Bowers Center Upper Lounge.
  • Wednesday, February 4 - Comfort Food Sampling: Nothing can bring us out of the winter funk more than comfort food! Join us from 4-5pm in the Bowers Center Demo Kitchen to sample some variations of mac and cheese! Enter for a chance to win gift cards and comfort food supplies when you stop in!
  • Thursday, February 5 - Dance Cardio: Dance those winter blues away with RecWell and the Etown Dance Team at 7 p.m. in the Bowers Center Group Fitness Room! The dance team will teach some dance choreography! Pre-registration is required.  Sign up here.
  • Saturday, February 7 - Hot Yoga: Warm up with Hot Yoga for RecWell's last event of Shake the Winter Blues Week! Join Wild and Free Power Yoga at their studio in Elizabethtown on at 1:00 p.m. RecWell will cover the cost of 34 students! Pre-registration is required by emailing recwell@etown.edu by February 2! Transportation is not provided.

 

CPR Certifications

The Office of Campus Recreation and Well-Being offers certification through the American Red Cross for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED. The cost for current Elizabethtown College students, staff and faculty is $65. The cost for community members is $80. Visit our CPR Certification website for more information and to register for one of the following upcoming classes:

  • January 16, 2026 (4 time slots, 8 people/session): 7:30 am - 9:00 am, 10:00 am - 11:30 am, 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm, 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
  • February 20, 2026 (4 time slots, 8 people/session): 7:30 am - 9:00 am, 10:00 am - 11:30 am, 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm, 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
  • March 20, 2026 (4 time slots, 8 people/session): 7:30 am - 9:00 am, 10:00 am - 11:30 am, 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm, 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Hiking has many health benefits, from physical to emotional and mental. Lancaster County is home to tons of hiking trails! Visit one of these four hiking trails that are all less than 8 miles from campus!
