Stonewall Community
Stonewall is a gender-inclusive housing option available for any student who identifies as a member of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally. By choosing the Stonewall Community, you are stepping into a supportive and inclusive residential experience that features opportunities for discussion, leadership, and engagement. The Stonewall Community is in Founders residence hall and as a gender fluid community the restrooms remain gender neutral.
Goals and Learning Outcomes
Community Living student staff will aim to create the following experiences for the purposes of residents in achieving the following outcomes:
- Community Living will assist students learn about the LGBTQ+ culture so students are able to:
- Describe common historical and contemporary issues
- Describe diversity within the group
- Describe ways participation in the culture can change and/or deepen as students pursue their educational and personal growth
- Expose students to opportunities to get involved with the culture so they can:
- Identify campus and community resources, student organizations and other opportunities to begin or continue their involvement with the culture or ally ship
- Assist residents as they transition to and from abroad and the different educational pedagogies so they able to:
- Use campus resources, academic techniques, and benefit from meaningful conversations with Community Living staff.
