DSST, Formally DANTES
DSST , formally Defense Activity for Non-traditional Education Support (DANTES), exams are college subject tests taken to earn college credit for knowledge acquired outside of a traditional classroom. DSST exams are administered by Prometric. The DSST offers 30 exams in six subject areas, including Physical Science, Technology, Humanities, Business, Math, and Social Science. While the exams are funded for active-duty military, DSST exams are not just for those in the military. Adult learners, home-schooled students, and military veterans are also eligible to earn college credits through DSST.
